A late post about the Blog Forum

 I don't know where the time has gone but I am behind in my blogging.

A week ago we held our first Blog Forum.  It was a huge sucess, and for those of you who missed it, we will be doing more.  I just have to figure out the dates.

First I want to thank Courtney from

~French Country Cottage~

 for being our special guest and for answering so many questions that were brought up that night.

Here she is surrounded by ladies, teaching them how to do a link party.

Everyone was willing to share ideas and tips.

There was lots of conversation flying back and forth. 

 Everyone agreed that we NEED to get together again.

We had a combination of ladies who have been blogging for quite a while with lots of followers, to a few that are wanting to start their own blogs soon.

Here are two of the cutest bloggers.  (Oldest and youngest.)

So if you missed out, never fear, we will do this again, and probably again.

  Whether you have been blogging for quite some time,

 or if you are struggling with some of the aspects,

 you want to get your name out there,

 and meet some fellow bloggers,

if you are young or old,

Attention Local Bloggers ~ Repost

As most of you know we hold Worshops here at

On March 1, 2012 we will hold a Blog Forum.  I am excited about this.  My idea is to get local bloggers together (or those who want to start a blog) to share their own blogs, share a few of their favorite blogs.

A special guest will be here to help answer any questions that you might have.  She will be able to help with how to do link party, how to do a Giveawy, blogging for bliss vs dollars and so much more!

    I just wanted to take the time to Thank You for the wonderful evening.  I really enjoyed the class and love my necklace.  You have such a lovely shop that it is like going to a relatives for the holidays.  You know, when you look forward to seeing how they have decorated.  You have such a warm and loving enviroment that it is enjoyable to spend time admiring your disign ability and your warm spirit.

Farm Table, Hutch, Buffet

We have several large items in the store just waiting for the perfect home.

I have a feeling.........

I have a feeling that this beautiful blue cabinet from Vermont is not going to last long.

Now that the holiday season is over, once again people are focusing on their homes.

And this cabinet would be so useful and beautiful in many types of decorating. 

 It is a little

Shabby,

 French

 and Primitive

 all in one.

You could fill it with

stonewear bowls,

demijohns,

 ironstone,

linens,

 quilts

and so much more!

With its deep drawers,

 wide shelves,

 worktop,

 and cupboard underneath

 it provides endless possibilities.

I just have a feeling...

it won't last long.

What a difference!

I love learning new ways to make this blog better.  One thing that I would like to learn more about is the photography side of things.  I don't like things to be complicated and to take a lot of time.  Therefore when I take pics for this blog I usually don't edit them.  I just do the best I can, and go for it.

But...

I have not been competly satisfied with some of the shots I have taken in the store since we opened.  The space does not have a lot of natural light and so some turn out looking yellow.  I thought well, I guess I will just have to learn how to edit. (which to me means "time" and I don't have tons of extra "time").

So...

 I was visiting with Maria from Dreamy Whites, and she gave me a few tips.  I can really see the difference and the pics look sooo much better.

Cute little Headband/Earwarmers

I don't know about you, but I don't like my ears to be cold.  When I go out walking, or in the early mornings at shows, I wear ear buds.  They fit right over my ears and help to keep me warm.

But...

they don't look cute.

One of the things that we carry at the shop are

 Handmade Headband/Earwarmers.

They come in a variety of colors, and they are cute AND warm at the same time!

Some have vintage buttons and a flower, some are beaded, and some have pretty feathers.

I must say these are WAY cuter than my ear buds.

So...

 Before the next Alameda,

or Downtown (it can be soooo cold there),

or trip up to Tahoe to ski,

stop in at the shop and pick up a Headband/Earwarmer for yourself or friend or daughter.

(More colors to choose from).
