In my last post I promised a post about my Poppy room.
Poppies are one of my favorite flowers.
In my entry way I have a small collection of poppy items.
When you walk in the front door, this is the first thing you see. A small bookcase that was built into place when the house was built 97 years ago. Go around the corner to head up the stairs that you see through the railing. We have filled the bookcase with some of our favorite "vintage" authors. I love the pretty colors on the binding of the books.
Along with poppies, I also love birds.
The wood painted tray is something that I found years ago at a yard sale.
It is a favorite of mine.
Facing the bookcase, next to the door, I have a couple of poppy prints and a vintage beveled mirror.
On the other side of the door is one more poppy print.
This print sits over a small wood desk and under a chalkboard that always has a little message written on it.
Pretend you have just walked in the door,
Welcome...
