French Arm Chair for Remnants of the Past

This French Arm Chair will be available at
Remnants of the Past.
In our space T-19 to 21 outside under the tent.

Every story has to start back at the beginning, right?

There she is, just bare bones.  Great display chair for a shop, but I wanted to make her sitable.
 (Is that a word?)

First all those little nails had to come out.  Every single one of them.

Now remind me why I want to tackle this project?

Oh yes, she has beautiful details.

After a coat of Annie Sloan wax and the fabric tacked on.
 Looking better!

All done!
As you can see there are still scraps on my kitchen floor.

The head rest.  Love those flowers!

Leg details.
After I distressed her, the wax brought out the details perfectly.

Arm rest.

Front of the seat.  Again the flowers are so pretty!!

The photo shoot.
She looks so nice in my living room, maybe she won't make it to Remnants.  Who wants to take home this piece?

This chair will be available for purchase at

Coming up, music wreath and chandelier and ?.

Scroll down for more items that will be at the show.

LOVE the chair! And I hear ya on pulling out all those tacks/nails/staples...it takes forever. But such a huge difference once it's all complete! Every time I look at your blog I wish I lived closer!!!!

Looks great! I recovered one like this, that still needs the trim, but I think we figured out I worked about 4 hours pulling out all the nails and staples, it was a huge job! But well worth it! This chair is a beauty. How do you like the AS wax? I've been thinking of giving it a try, but it is a bit expensive too.
