How will you set your Table?

What will your table look like?
How will you set it?

Will it be set with miss-matched dishes and flatware that somehow all seem to go together?

With sweet little accessories?

And what kind of centerpiece will it be?  A basket with flowing greenery?

So simple.  So pretty.

Will you use place cards?

No matter what it looks like, the table where we eat always has the most delicious food, lovingly prepared with the best of old family recipes.

And we EAT till we can hold no more.

Beautiful Fall Fruit and Trees

This time of year there are so many beautiful things to see.  I thought I would share a few pics of things that I have seen.

Sweet juicy pears.
They look so pretty with primitive wood and ironstone.

Crunchy red apples in a vintage basket, ready to made into a delicious pie.

Persimmons all lined up in a drawer.
I love them made into cookies with chocolate chips.
(If you are interested in the recipe let me know.)

They are very abundant in our neck of the woods.

Every year it seems that there are more and more varieties of pumpkins and gourds available.

Oh, we can't forget the trees.  Each week they are more beautiful.  Ours still have leaves.  I know that it won't be long and the branches will be bare.  I am enjoying them while I can.
The pic of the trees was taken at High Hand.

Everyday there is more progress on our store.  I will be sharing pics soon!
If you have not heard the news,
we are opening our own store in Loomis inside the historic High Hand Packing sheds!

I hope you are enjoying your Fall.

The Table That Only Lasted A Few Days

Last week I took a table to Scout Living and I took some pics to share with you.
Distressed white legs with a natural top.

Well, she only lastest a few days.
She now has a home with a happy new owner.

She looked so pretty right in the middle of our space.

I had to share the pics, even though she is no longer available.  Something else is in the place she was.
Our space changes weekly, sometimes daily.  If you see something you like, don't wait too long!  The store is full of vintage items to decorate your home with.  It is also a great place to find a gift for that someone special.

You can find these items at

My Patina Style Book

My sweet husband purchased a copy of the book
for me at the Remnants of the Past show.

This book written by Brooke and Steve Giannetti, also the writers of the blog
has been an inspiration to me.
The pages are full of beautiful photos.  In getting ready for the opening of our store, The Vintage Bricoleur, I have refered to the pages of the book over and over.  Building a new space and wanting it to appear like an old space can be a challenge.

  • If you have not purchased a copy of this book yet, I promise you that you will not be disappointed.
I love mine, I know you will love yours also.
