Featuring Sweet Silver @The Vintage Bricoleur

                                          Meet Brenda from Sweet Silver.
This talented lady creates beautiful things out of vintage silverware.  We are happy to have her as part of our team at
The Vintage Bricoleur.
Tea Pot Lamps

Pendants

Madallians

Beaded Bracelets

And so much more.  She has several items that are new this season!
Here is what Brenda has to say...
We just love old silverware!  My husband George and I have spent many, many hours over the years combing thrift stores, garage sales and antique stores for interesting, rare and unusual silverware.  As our vast collection grew so did our ideas of what to do with it all.  It finally all came together in late 2002 when Sweet Silver was born!  George's mechanical ability and my design ideas together create the unique, one-of-a-kind items featured at our shows and shown on this website.

W
e handcraft each piece from a variety of authentic, vintage silverware.   Each piece is unique due to the design and wear of the silverware.  Sometimes a fork will just demand to be a zipper pull and other times it immediately suggests a pendant or an easel.

Please welcome Brenda!

I am pleased to announce that Sandy from

Sandy is a talented lady who has experience in vintage home design.  She is also the promoter of Mes Amis, the antique street faire in downtown Roseville, Ca.

Here she is in her space at Remnants of the Past.

Beautiful pillows out of a vintage quilt.

I love this photo of Sandy and my youngest daughter Arica, it shows her love for people.

These two photos are of a wedding that Sandy designed.

Featuring Miss Worm @ The Vintage Bricoleur

Meet Laura of  Miss Worm.
Laura is my husband's sister.

Laura will be taking a small area in the shop that will be filled with beautiful items many of which will be handmade.  Jewelry, flower pins, quilts, pillows, you name it, and all vintage inspired!

Laura has a space at Scout Living, and as you can see she does not waste an inch!
She is to be featured in the next Sac Magazine for her one of a kind jewelry.  She can do custom orders.  She made me a special necklace that says "bricoleur".  I love it.
Please welcome Laura.

Featuring Zelder Antiques @ The Vintage Bricoleur

The next few days you will meet the talented dealers who are to be a part of our store,
The Vintage Bricoleur.

First we have Don & Melanie of
Zelder Antiques.
The Zelders have been in the antiquing business for over 15 years.  Their home shows their love for vintage, in the way they thoughtfully display their collections.  Primitive pine cupboards hold beautiful ironstone, antique books, pretty quilts, and more.  Even the walls of the garage hold a collection of unique and unusual signs.  They have a space at The Antique Trove in Roseville, and they sell with us at the shows that we do, such as Alameda, Remnants of the Past, and Sacramento.

So, here are my favorite photos of some of their items.

Ironstone and jars in an old cupboard.

Galvanized buckets on a vintage potting bench.

Old clock and bust framed by a shabby frame.

Garden cement on a rusty metal table with tall shabby windows.

Set of old cake pans.

Little cement ducks peeking out of an old wood tool box.

Salvage architectural backing beautiful pewter and ironstone.

Pretty cards set in a divided wood box.

Sound pieces to an old organ in a old metal trashcan framed by vintage doors and beautiful mirror.

You never know what they will come up with.  Often they are out as a family seeking for treasures.
Speaking of the family...

Coralie, Landon, Don, David, Melanie, Erik and Shirlie.

Please welcome the Zelders.

Progress on our store - The Vintage Bricoleur

In the next few days before the store opens I will be sharing progress pics and also introducing the awesome, talented team of dealers that will be selling items in our store.
The Countdown has begun , 10 days till the Grand Opening Party.

O.K., so this is what we started with.

The space where our store is now.
This photo was taken November 1st.

This is how it looked yesterday, November 21st.

There were LOTS of pots to move.

And a small Koi holding tank.

Shelves had to be taken down, and iron statues had to be relocated.

Progress.

These last three pics were taken in the same spot.
 Looks a little different huh?

We (my Husband and son mostly)
are currently working on the inside.
My part, (making it look pretty), is coming soon.
I have been helping though, here is a picture to prove it.

Up on the roof, glazing the siding to "age" it.
Do you see the name DAN?  No, my husband did not put his name up there, it has been there for years and is part of the history of the building.  Pretty cool huh?  When we realized it was there, we thought hmm, this spot has been saved for us!

So again, Please join us

How will you set your Table?

What will your table look like?
How will you set it?

Will it be set with miss-matched dishes and flatware that somehow all seem to go together?

With sweet little accessories?

And what kind of centerpiece will it be?  A basket with flowing greenery?

So simple.  So pretty.

Will you use place cards?

No matter what it looks like, the table where we eat always has the most delicious food, lovingly prepared with the best of old family recipes.

And we EAT till we can hold no more.
