My picks for The Versatile Blogger Award

About a week ago, I was nominated by Three O'Clock Winds for
The Versatile Blogger Award.
I was suprised when Erica said that she was inspired by reading my blog.  Thank you so much!  I am happy when I can inspire someone with a new idea of how to decorate or how to redo a piece of furniture.

So here are the rules for what I need to do.

Rules:

- Thank the person who gave you the award.

- Include a link to their blog.

- Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.

- Nominate 15 bloggers that you've recently discovered or follow regularly for the Versatile Blogger Award.

- Link to their blogs.

- Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

Here is a list of 15 blogs that I read and follow for a variety of reasons.  These bloggers inspire me, encourage me,(thanks Mom and B & L), keep me in touch with their families, have great tutorials, let me know about other dealers, a few have cute little shops, and a few bring me the most traffic on my own blog.  Thanks so much ladies!
These are not in any specific order.  I am am happy to see when any of them has posted.
(Wow, that's hard, only 15?)

O.K. Erica, seven things about myself.
  1. I have always lived in Northern California.
  2. I am a true bricoleur at heart.  Always trying to use things in different ways.
  3. I live in a house that is almost 100 years old.  (Built in 1915)
  4. I am afraid of snakes and mice.
  5. I have three sweet children, two girls and a boy and a wonderful husband.  I am the oldest of six.
  6. I want God's will for my life.
  7. Antiquing is in my blood, my parents are also dealers.
So there you have it!  You know a little bit more about me and you know some of my favorite blogs.
Thanks for reading!

Vendors and their spaces @ Remnants of the Past~Part 1

This post is going to be dedicated to some of the vendors that were at the Remnants show.  I did not have a chance to take a pic of everyone, here are just a few.

This Katy and Collette's space of The Rusty Clover.  Two talented ladies from our own Sacramento area.

I thought that the little fire place screen curtains were cute.

Martin, Trinidad, Johan, a very talented team.

My good friend Sandy Bryan from The Olive and Rose.

I love these pillows!

Tim and Lisa from Blue Canoe Reloaded.

Kathee and Charley from Chateau et Jardin.

I took this photo in the Junk Girls space.

We love Kate and her family.

This is the end of Part 1.  Part 2 will be posted tomorrow.  I hope you enjoyed the pics.  It always helps me to put a face to a name.

The Vintage Bricoleur at Remnants of the Past

I want to share with you some photos of our space at Remnants.
Welcome!
Dresser, books, small farm table, swim locker baskets, old ceiling tile.
Lace bags on vintage orchard ladder.

Primitive cabinet stuffed full of old jars, ironstone, pottery bowls and wire baskets.

Industrial desk, vintage fan, old books.
Huge old map, white workbench/island, boxes, big farm table, bench, tool tote, chandelier.
Shabby black secretary hutch, french books, ironstone.
White pickets, old chest, vintage typewriter, chandelier, big pile of old books.
Vintage hankies on primitive ladder.
We draped the space with that beautiful raw silk that I have posted about titled Mysterious Package.
The chicken that stole the show, (yes, it's real!)  She decided that our space was her favorite and she settled right in amongst the items for sale.

We had a wonderful time and we can't wait for the Oct. 8th show.  Many thanks to Judy for all the hard work.

Talented People

One of my favorite things about this business is getting to meet some talented people.  Here are some from the Remnants of the Past show this last weekend.
Here we have Michelle and Lisa from Urban Farmhouse.  Check out their blog here.  We had the privilege to sell across the aisle from them.

Here are some beautiful things in the Atelier De Campagne space.
This is a shot of Blue Canoe Reloaded.  Tim and Lisa's space always looks amazing.

Polly and Jenny are a mother daughter team who are very creative and  don't let anything go to waste , they even make their own bags out of old paper sacks!

Kate and her sons Peter and Andrew are a great family team.  We always enjoy visiting with them at the different shows.  We got to sit with them at the dinner for the vendors the night before the show.
Kymberley and her husband with their three daughters and her mother.  They were all so nice and her space was just as beautiful as her store.
I got to meet Maria and three of her sweet children of Dreamy Whites.  She has a beautiful blog with an online shop.
Dustin and his girlfriend Lauren along with his parents Kathee and Charley of Chateau et Jardin came and sold.  It was good to see them again.
Katy  (on the right) was there.  It was good to see someone from our neck of the woods.  Her space was amazing.
There were so many more, but I was not able to get around to everyone.

Chateau et Jardin

I had the priveledge to visit the Agoura Antique mart on my way home from Catalina

( I couldn't resist a few more pics)

Anyway, one of the dealers there is Kathee from Chateau et Jardin.

We met while selling across the aisle from each other at The Three Speckled Hens Show.

One of Kathee's specialties is French Enamelware.

She sells a mix of French, Architectural and Garden.

Kathee is one talented lady and her home and garden have been featured in several magazines.

Thank you Kathee for letting me do this post about you.
