The Coffee Table

I recieved such kind comments about the posts I did on my home
I decided to share a little bit more. One of the reasons I like to share pics of my home is to give inspiration of how to decorate using vintage items.  We sell similar things in our store.

So here is the coffee table.

It is simply an old wood box/trunk.
Place it in front of your sofa or a couple of chairs and you have a
coffee table.

Place some items on top that you love, and you are done!

Pretty shells and an old sea float were gathered to sit in my vintage locker basket.

A few of my favorite decorating books also rest here, easy to pick up and browse through for great inspiration.

Summer decorating wouldn't be complete without some beautiful hydrangeas.

I love the hardware on this primitive piece.

And the patina of the wood.  Some would say that it is not perfect.
I love it that way.

Another peek of the hardware.

Perfect for my living room.

What do you use for a coffee table?

My Patina Style Book

My sweet husband purchased a copy of the book
for me at the Remnants of the Past show.

This book written by Brooke and Steve Giannetti, also the writers of the blog
has been an inspiration to me.
The pages are full of beautiful photos.  In getting ready for the opening of our store, The Vintage Bricoleur, I have refered to the pages of the book over and over.  Building a new space and wanting it to appear like an old space can be a challenge.

  • If you have not purchased a copy of this book yet, I promise you that you will not be disappointed.
I love mine, I know you will love yours also.

Vendors and their spaces @ Remnants of the Past~Part 2

This is part two of some of the vendors that were at the Remnants show.
Again I was not able to get everyone's photo, just a few.  I hope you enjoy!

Stephani from Ruby Rose brought her adorable little trailer to the show.

They are a local business in the San Luis Obispo area.

The first day there was a book signing by Brooke and Steve Giannetti from Velvet and Linen.  Their book Patina Style is beautiful.  I am enjoying mine.

The second day another book signing took place by Susan Branch.  The line was clear to the door!

Yes, Cindy from Queen of Tarte was there.

Kymberley from A Beautiful Mess had a large space in the front as you walked in the door.

These ladies were our neighbors, Tina and Karen Chambers were across from us.  Victoria had a space inside.  Marilyn Thompson was right beside us.  They all sell at A Beautiful Mess.

Lulu of Dusty Lu Interiors in front of our space.  A very nice lady and talented photographer.

I love this pic of Judy and her daughter Devon.

Here is one of Judy and I in our space.
We are honored to have been a part of such a talented group of vendors.
Stay tuned for a few more pics of the show!

We had a great time and look forward to the next one!

    Two more Chairs for Remnants

Once again here are a few more items for
     Remnants.

Two chairs that can be used in any number of places in your home.

Two different styles, both with different personalities.

Here is the smaller of the two, more petite.

    Some of the back details.
They show up so nice after being distressed and then a coat of wax put over the top to protect it.

    Now for the other chair.
This one also has great detail on the back and on the legs.

Sorta like a pretty spider web look.
This chair has also been distressed and waxed to bring out the details.

She has a nice little grain sack seat.  I love those stripes!

Here they are again.  Ready for you to take home.

These chairs will be available at
     this coming
    Saturday & Sunday
    October 8 & 9
    in San Luis Obispo.

You don't want to miss this show!
There will be book signings by Susan Branch & Velvet and Linen.

Introduced on Remnants of the Past

We are going to be part of the show Remnants Of The Past again.

Judy Watkins the promoter of the show takes the time to introduce all of the vendors.
Check out this website/blog to read the post that introduces us.

This show promises to be bigger and better.  For those of you who attended the last show in the spring, or heard about how crowded it was, set your worries aside.  Judy has made the hard decision to move the show to a new location.  It is much bigger and it will be easier to get around.  It is also a two day show this time, allowing you two fun days of shopping.

Fun things are planned each day.
Brooke and Steve Giannetti of Velvet and Linen will be signing their new book
    Patina Style.
Susan Branch will be signing her book
    Girlfriends Forever.

Look for us outside under the big tent in spaces T-19 through T-21.

We have some fun items planned and I am going to do several post with pics of some of the items available.

Our space at the spring show.

    Remember the chicken?

    Look for our sign.

If you are interested in having a brochure with info about the show and a vendor map and such, please contact me and I will get that in the mail to you.
