The First Day of Spring

Wow! Is it already March 20th?  The first day of Spring?
Spring is my favorite season.
I love to see all the trees budding, the flowers blooming, hear the birds singing and to see a little more of the sun shining.

Ever since I was a little girl I would love to go out into the yard to pick flowers and bring them in and arrange them in vases.  I would sometimes pretend that I worked in a florist.  As I got a little older, I was asked to help "do" the flowers for a wedding or two.....

Anyway, our Camellia bushes this year are FULL of blooms and I could not resist cutting some branches and bringing them in for a center piece on the table.

These were not skillfully arranged, they were simply placed in this ironstone pitcher however they fit.  I like the more natural look this created.  It looks much like they do on the bushes themselves.

So here we have some of my favorite things.  Ironstone, rusty metal, primitive wood, cement, vintage linen & lace and of course flowers.

The wood beekeepers's tray came from Atelier de Campagne.

That cool little metal tray has been sold already.
I know the new owner will enjoy it as much as I did.

Do you love Spring also?

This centerpiece has already been changed out.  Things sell and I get to create a new one!
If you ever see something here that you like, don't wait too long to come into the store.
 We are located,
3750 Taylor Road
 Loomis, Ca. 95650
Inside the High Hand fruit sheds.

Hours:
Tuesday - Saturday 10 - 5.
Sunday 10 - 4.

Pretty little bobbie in my daughter's hair.

Hand Knotted Rug Class

The class was full Thursday evening. The ladies all brought their own fabric to make a rug with colors of their choice.
My sweet mother came to help teach.
The next workshop is the Music Wreath Workshop on March 29th, at 6 p.m.
This is being posted on my iPhone , so I am sorry if the pics are not in the right places.

A Chair Redo

I want to share with you a chair redo I did last week.

This chair is a favorite at the house because it is easy to move from place to place as it is needed.  It is also comfy to sit in.  However the color was not my favorite.  It needed to be "dressed" in new clothes.

Before

After
I chose to leave the wood as it was.  I like the contrast of the dark wood and the grain sack.

A side veiw.

I love the stripes from the stitching.

So there you have it!  I love her new "clothes".
What have you been working on lately?  Do you have any projects that you have finished?

A late post about the Blog Forum

I don't know where the time has gone but I am behind in my blogging.

A week ago we held our first Blog Forum.  It was a huge sucess, and for those of you who missed it, we will be doing more.  I just have to figure out the dates.
First I want to thank Courtney from
for being our special guest and for answering so many questions that were brought up that night.

Here she is surrounded by ladies, teaching them how to do a link party.

Everyone was willing to share ideas and tips.

There was lots of conversation flying back and forth.
Everyone agreed that we NEED to get together again.

We had a combination of ladies who have been blogging for quite a while with lots of followers, to a few that are wanting to start their own blogs soon.

Here are two of the cutest bloggers.  (Oldest and youngest.)

So if you missed out, never fear, we will do this again, and probably again.
Whether you have been blogging for quite some time,
or if you are struggling with some of the aspects,
you want to get your name out there,
 and meet some fellow bloggers,
if you are young or old,
sign up for our next class.
I'll keep you posted as to when that will take place.
