The Roseville Spring Antique Market~Hosted by The Tattered House

This Sunday we will be selling at my favorite show.  The Roseville Spring Antique Market. Why is it my favorite?

  It is hosted by these nice ladies.

The Tattered House.

The show is small, with only 50 vendors, but they are some of the best, and it is cozy and family friendly.

If you have never visited the shop, Sunday would be the perfect time, plus you will get the added benefit of seeing all the treasures that the vendors on the steet have.

The show is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it is FREE!

French Table

For some time I have wanted to try to paint a table with a blue/gray/glazed look.  I love the French look, and this table was just the thing to try it on.

~BEFORE~

An O.K. looking table, but all of the details are hidden with that dark paint.

~AFTER~

Here it is finished, after it got a couple coats of different colored paint, some sanding, glaze and a good coat of Deft.

The colors blended to make the perfect French look.

The glaze brought out the details.

It is gone.  It didn't last long at the last show.  It was fun to do and I'm sure that I'll be giving some other pieces the same type of treatment.

It is so fun to give a piece a new life.

The Other Bricoleurs

If you follow this blog, you will notice that I always close by saying

Terry (one of the bricoleurs).  There is a reason for that,  I am one of four.  Plus there are some junior bricoleurs, but that will be a different post.

First I will introduce Melanie.  She is quiet, working behind the scenes.  She is very talented at creating beautiful vignettes (like my mantle, the pic for the blog header).  Her knowledge about antiques and her opinion we value very highly.  Most of the time you will not see her at a show as she usually stays home to take care of three active little boys.

Next is Don.  Don and Melanie have been in the antiquing business for about 15 years.  Don has a talent for finding unusual treasures and is excellent at merchandising their items for sale. 

Danny is next.  He is very handy with his hands and is excellent at fixing any of the items that need some TLC.  His specialty is woodworking.  He drives the big truck and trailer to and from the shows.

I'll be last.  I enjoy looking for treasures and setting up the space to make it look pretty.

It takes lots of hard work from lots of people to make this work.  We as couples have been friends for years and it is fun to be able to work together.

Alameda~ April

The next show is The Alameda Antique Faire.  It will take place this Sunday, April 3rd.

Look for lots of galvanized.

I love this, the colors are so fun.

The Antique Trove

I want to share with you the space that we have in The Antique Trove.  Look for us on aisle G.  Our dealer # is 236.  

Old wood ladder with vintage passport.

Glass domes with string and flower frogs.

Vintage luggage and old gauges.

Medicine cabinet with old photo and vintage cake topper.

Birdcage and ironstone on shabby dresser.

Seashells, glass measures and wood stakes on garden table.

A big double space full of treasures for your shop or home.

Galvanized buckets on primitive bench, cement pots, full of wooden shoe forms.

Petticoat lamps.

Beautiful primitive redwood buffet, with beveled mirrors.

This space changes weekly, sometimes daily.  Check often for new "treasures".

Paris Flea Market

We have been invited to sell at The Paris Flea Market this Sunday March 27th.  It will take place in the parking lot of the cute little shop Fleuri.

The hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The address is 7301 Fair Oaks Blvd. Carmichael

The French Hen has joined Fleuri and she is now selling in the shop.

The last two shows that we were to sell at got rained out.  At this point the weather looks like it may hold.  I will keep you updated as to whether or not (no pun intended  :)) it will take place.

Thank You

I want to say Thank You for all of the sweet Birthday wishes the last couple of days.  Two of us bricoleurs celebrated our special day this last week. 

This blog is mainly for business, and not a diary of our personal lives, but since there where so many B-day comments, I wanted to acknowledge them.  As some of you know, I LOVE my B-day, and it was nice to be thought of.  ;o)
